“The Lenovo Z6 Pro is a quad camera-toting flagship powered by the Snapdragon 855 processor”

Lenovo has just launched the Z6 Pro as its first flagship smartphone in India for 2019. The phone was originally unveiled in China in April as the brand’s latest Snapdragon 855 chipset powered handset. The device has landed as a loaded, yet affordable flagship offering with four cameras at the rear. We managed to spend some time with the Lenovo Z6 Pro, and here are our first impressions of the latest Lenovo flagship smartphone.

Talking about the design first, the Lenovo Z6 Pro flaunts an eye-catching design with a glass back and a metal frame. When the curved rear of the phone catches light, it looks quite snazzy thanks to the red vertical highlight. However, the device can get a tad slippery. The ports and button placement are standard with the right side featuring the volume rocker and power key. At the bottom edge, you have the USB Type-C port and the Dolby Atmos-powered speaker, while the top has the 3.5mm headphone socket.

Moving on to the features, the Lenovo Z6 Pro has an under-display fingerprint sensor, which is really fast and is highly accurate. The smartphone features a 6.39-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080, HDR10 support, and a layer of Corning’s Gorilla glass on top. The screen is very vibrant and provides a decent multi-media viewing experience. There’s a waterdrop notch above the screen to house the selfie camera. Software-wise, the device boots Android 9 Pie-based ZUI 11, which for the most part looks and feels almost like stock Android.

Under the hood, the Lenovo Z6 Pro packs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 SoC that offers a clock speed of 2.84GHz, and is accompanied by 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. During our brief use of the smartphone, it worked very smoothly without any lags. The phone is capable of smoothly playing high-end games like Asphalt 9 and PUBG Mobile at ultra-graphics setting. However, wait for our review of the Lenovo Z6 Pro for a verdict on the performance of the smartphone. Notably, the smartphone is equipped with a cooling system comprising a copper pipe and vapour chamber, which should keep the heat down while gaming or performing intensive tasks.

As for the imaging prowess, the Lenovo Z6 Pro has four cameras at the rear including a 48MP f/1.8 main sensor, a 16MP super wide-angle camera, an 8MP telephoto shooter, and a 2MP super video camera. There’s also a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor onboard as well. For selfies, the smartphone has a 32MP shooter on the front. The few photos we captured during our short interaction with the handset were very promising with good sharpness and great detail with true-to-life colours. However, we will be able to provide a complete judgement on the imaging capability of the device after reviewing it.

Talking about the other specs, the Lenovo Z6 Pro offers almost all connectivity options including 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, Aptx HD, USB Type-C port, and dual GPS with GLONASS. The package is powered by a beefy 4,000mAh battery, which supports 18W fast charging.

The Lenovo Z6 Pro comes in a single black colour variant. Priced at Rs 33,999, the phone will go on sale exclusively on Flipkart starting from September 11th.
