“The Nokia 800 Tough flaunts IP68 certification and MIL-STD810G rating for endurance for extreme conditions”
At its pre-IFA event in Berlin, HMD Global introduced the 2019 version of the Nokia 2720 Flip feature phone. Apart from this, the company has also announced a new handset called the Nokia 800 Tough. The device is the first-ever rugged phone from Nokia, and is capable of surviving in extreme conditions, thanks to multiple certifications for ruggedness. We spent some time with the handset, and here’s your first look at the Nokia 800 Tough’s design and features.

The Nokia 800 Tough is a rugged mobile phone thanks to the IP68 certification and the MIL-STD-810G rating. The device is designed to survive drops, and offers resistance to dust, sand, extreme temperatures, and water (up to under 1.5m depth for 30 minutes). The handset sports an anti-slip rubberised grip, large buttons, and a sturdy-looking camera module at the rear. Notably, there’s also a large flashlight and a flap to cover the micro-USB charging port and the 3.5mm headphone socket on the top edge, and a loop the bottom to let you attach a lanyard.
